Flowers express our feelings. People buy flowers to show their love, sadness, happiness and friendship. If you want to congrulate someone, you can buy orchid. You shouldn't send artifical flowers.

Roses mean love. You can buy a rose to your mother. You can buy pink rose to your friend for his/her birthday. You can buy a red rose to your girlfriend.

Acacias show friendship. Honeysuckles show attachment. Yellow carnations mean disappointment. Colorful cornations mean sadness. Yellow tulips show hopelessness. Blue violets mean loyalty. If you want to make a woman happy, you should buy orchid to her. Daisies symbolize clean heart. Jasmines show beauty and attractiveness. If you want to share someone's pain, you should buy yellow lily. Olives symbolize peace. If you want to make peace, you can buy olive. Azaleas show the end of the relationship. If you want to someone back, you should buy jonquil. If you are married, you can buy linden to your wife/husband. Mimosas symbolize susceptibility. If you have some news, you can buy fleur-de-lis. Rosewoods mean impatience. Petunias show hope.

Narcissuses show respect. You can buy narcissus to your teacher or boss. Lilac symbolize 'love at first sight'. Cactus is a flower that lives in deserts. But it shows sincerity. If you can't forget someone, you should buy pink carnations.

In short, you can express your feelings with flowers. Also, flowers show courtesy. They make our lives more vivid.

MY PASSION FOR CARS

First of all, I should say that I love cars. According to some men ; Women don't understand the cars. I think it's a very funny idea. Because, every person may interested in cars.Especially the ladies J .

I want to talk about my passion for cars. I regularly buy car magazine every month. And my room has posters of the latest model car. I have got toy car.These products are very important for me.

I follow F1.I enjoy watching car racing.

I want to tell you about Alija izetbegoviç .because he had an interesting life story he was the presedent of Bosnia and when there was a big war and a big persecution he worked a lot for the victory of his people…

He was born in bosnia in 1925.His family was muslim

He was very hardworking at his high school and it was a german high school.İn his highschool time he founded a club named ‘Mladi Muslimani’.He worked for this club.bBut he was accused by the enemies and he was thrown into prison. He was in prison for 3 years during theWorld War II .So the club was closed.

There was a war of independence in Bosnia and aftre the war Bosnia was a free country but during the war time Russians helped them so russians started to govern bosnia after the war. the government(russian) was against the muslims and izetbegovic worked for the muslims so the government didn’t like him.government threw him to the prison again for 5 years.when he went out of the jail.he founded a party and he became the president.He worked alot for hiscountry to fight against enemies . At the end he won he and his country won…

SNOW:

The snows are kind of crystals. All of snows have got six corners. The results of investigations none of snows isn't same to each other. The first researcher is American Wilson Bently. He has done investigate for 50 years and he couldn't rencontre any same snow crystals in 6000 pictures. The next researchers couldn't find any snow with the same shape and the same size.

SNOW'S BENEFITS:

The snow cleans the weather from the germs. When the snow falls it leaves compound what is useful for the soil. And this compound is very important for plants and for humans.

SNOW'S FUN:

Many children like winter because in snowy weathers they can play snowball with their friends, they can do snowman, they can go skating.. The snow isn't funny only for children, the elders like watching the snow's falling or the children's playing.

THE DELICIOUS OF SNOW:

In winter falling snows on the mountains don't melt for a long time. Some people carry them and they store them. In summer they mix the snows with boiled grape juice. It calls "snow sherbet". In summer, it refreshes the people when they drink the snow sherbet.

1-Why did yo choose wushu?

ELİF AKYÜZ:Because wushu is the most important sport for the human health,body and mind.I think it is very aesthetic and it is look beautiful on me

2-When did you start doing Wushu ?

ELİF AKYÜZ:I started in 2000

3-What are your targets for wushu?

ELİF AKYÜZ:My targets are ; winning seven medals in the World championships and winning three medal in olimpic championshps ,being the best in the World with my siblings,and I want to be better than chinese in wushu

4.Can you give us some imformation about wushu?

ELİF AKYÜZ:Wushu has got two parts they are tao and sanda.Sanda is about fighting technics,kicking and punching technics.Tao has got three parts.They are styles of North,South style and touchi.

5-How many medals do you have?

EİF AKYÜZ:I can’t count I have alot of medals. I guess I have 30-40 medal.

6-How do you prepare for competations ?

ELİF AKYÜZ:I prepare for them regularly.I do training for six hours in a day.and my tariners are chinese tarainers.

7-How did you feel when you won the World championshp?

ELİF AKYÜZ:I felt very very happy,and I was thankful to Allah.

9-What do you do in your typical day?

ELİF AKYÜZ:İn my typical day I study chinese language and I practice wushu

10-How is the life style in china?

E:Chinese are very hardworking and they work in an order.they care time.they are never late they like to do everything on time.they study alot to be successful.

11-What do you think about chinese food?

EL:Chinese food is more different than turkish food.I cant get used to them

12-What do chinese people think about Turkis people ?

EL: They like Turks.

13-Where do you want to live in future, in china or in turkey?

I went to China only for Wushu ?

15-What do you think about chinese language , is it difficult ?

Writing ,readin is difficult .intonations are more difficult but we are always together with chinese so it is not difficul for us now. I can speak it easily.

Trachemys scripta elegans is a kind of turtle. They live in lakes and rivers of the North America but you can feed them in the aquariums too.The water in the aquarium must be 23-30C .They are very hungry and they feel hungry every time. They can eat shrimp ,lettuce,banana,apple,fish etc. Baby trachemys scripta elegans eat more than adults.they live about 30 years or more .they have 4 legs and they do not have ears.they see clearly but they can’t hear very well.their length is about 25cm. they must be fed in the clean and hot an aquarium otherwise they get ill quickly and easily. An aquarium should have an aquarium heater,filter and UV spot. Trachemys scripta elegans need vitamins.some of them hibernate. their carapace must be cleaned once a week.they need to sunbathing.they are good friends for you.if you do not feed it well, it dies:(

There was a man in Philedelphia who's name was Sam. He was very rich. He had a lot of money in banks. He was a lawyer. He had no brother or sister. So, when his father dead, he gave all of money to him. And he was selfish. He always thinks

himself. One day a man came to him. He was searching a lawyer. But he wasn't right. If he won, Steve gives him a poor family's money. He came to Sam because Sam was a successful lawyer. Sam thought "If I accept, I will have more money. I can buy houses, cars with this money." And he accepted. Then, he won of course.Steve thanked him and gave the money to Sam. But Sam couldn't sleep. He was unhappy. Because Steve was guilty. He defended Steve and let him to exploited a poor family's money. He thought, thought, thought.. He shouldn't do this.But it was too late. He couldn't spend money. Then he thought "I never do something which is like that.It's not me." After that, he went and gave money to the poor family.He is happier anymore. And he will never defend guilty people.

Festival of Sacrifice

During the 4 day festival of sacrifice os Islam World. First day has a different meaning. For example we sacrifice. We visit cemetery. Our family has a good time. The most important preparation is cleaning the entire house before the festival. A lot of traditional food is prepared for family and relatives.

Last festival I and my cousins went to cinema and shopping. we went to see the movie "300". It was very enjoyable. In short, our festival is very beautiful for everybody. Festivals means brotherhood, togetherness and friendship.

During the four days festival of sacrifice. We clean our house before the festival. We prepare candies and money for children. We prepare food and special deserts. Especially our desert is Turkish Baklava. First day if we have grandparents at home. We wait because our guests come. But if we haven't got grandfather and grandmother we go to visit our relatives. We wear the newest clothes or the most beautiful clothes. We visit our old relatives. We kiss their hands and we ask about their health. We speak about how the life is going these days. The most important thing is sacrifice. We prepare the meats. We give the meat to the poor people. This represents togetherness. The second important thing is "eid prayer" for men. The mosque is full of men for this day. They start the happily. After the first day we call our people or relatives who live abroad. In short The Festival os sacrifice makes people come together.

Aşura is a desert. Aşura was made at Nuh prophet's ship for the first time. Today people cook this special desert and share it with their neighbours and relatives to remember Nuh prophet.

If you want to cook Aşure; here is the list of ingredients : a glass of wheat, a glass of chickpea, a glass of rice, a glass of grape, a glass of bean, a glass of apricot, a glass of fig, a glass of sugar, 4-5 cornation, pomegranate, cinnaman, nut, corn and hzelnut .

My grandma makes aşura perfectly. We go to her house every aşura day. At grandparents' garden fire burns and the big cauldran boils. And than my grandma moves near the cauldran. She mixes the cauldran with a scoop. We bring the ingrediets one by one to her. After it ripens, we pour it into small bowls. And we distribute these bowls to neighbours.
Aşura is the symbol of solidarity. It is very important tradotion. It means sharing and so we like aşura.

A Town in Turkey- FETHİYE

Fethiye is a district of Muğla.This town is very hot in summer and it isn’t very cold in winter.This town is at the sea coast.It is a touristic town so a lot of people in fethiye sell items for tourists.

There is a famaous bay in fethiye. It’s special name is ‘ölüdeniz’.This bayhas got a beatiful view.People always do paragliding near the Ölüdeniz. Pragliding area is on the ‘Babadağ’.This mountain’s hight is 2500 m.It is a very exciting and risky sport.A lot of tourists and Turkish people do this sport at Ölüdeniz.

Usually Fethiye’s people go to plateaus in summer because Fethiye is very hot.The people go to the paleteau in May and they stay there till September.These people do agricultural at plateau.They grow a lot of vegetables like; potatos, tomatos, cucumber and parsley.

You should visit Fethiye one day. You will not regret it.

WUSHU - ANCIENT CHINESE ART

Wushu is a chinese spor.Chinese people do this sport because it is their belief and it is good for their healt.This sport is very important for chinese.they start doing this sport when they are children and they do this sport till death.This sport is the most important lesson in their schools.They have this lesson even at universty.This sport has got a lot of parts ;changquen,daoshu,jıanshu,sanda,qingda…in china a chinese person choose one of this parts and he/she always engages in this part .

İn our country there is a federation about wushu.The head of the federation is Abdurrahman AKYÜZ.He is a Professional sportsman.His wife and his children are sportspeople too.His oldest doughter is Elif AKYÜZ. She has got a lot of medals and she won first medal at world championship last year. This sport is not very popular in Turkey for now. But I am sure it will be very popular in future.

Asaf Is In Sapanca

Asaf went across the street and he walked to the train station fast.He took a ticket from the ticket office.He got on a train.He arrived to Sapanca after a short journey.He walked to the beach.The beach was very crowded because it was Saturday.He started to take photos after dinner.He took the photos of the old people sitting on the banks and walking children holding their mothers' hands.He met a photographer while he was taking photos.His name is Bill.He would take photos and work related to his exhibition in Sapanca.Asaf and Bill chatted and took photos on

the beach.They protruded to lake.They collected stones from the beach.While it was getting dark, Asaf said "I must go."They walked to the train station.While he was taking ticket, he recognized that his wristband was lost.It was very important for Asaf because it was his grandfather's gift.He was terrified and he decided to tell it to Bill.Bill said to him"Stay here, we can find it before it gets dark."

What will Asaf do?

A)Asaf will give up to finding wristband and he will catch up the train.

B)He will search his wristband with Bill.

Yellow, green, grey, pink, purple, blue, white…Colours are our life.Life isn’t amusing, if there aren’t colours.Because they make our life fun.Think about this; you are blind, everywhere is dark, there isn’t green, there isn’t blue,there isn’t pink ,there is only black.For example books; I think they aren’t enjoyable but pictures are very enjoyable.Because they are colourful.There are colourful lights in amusement parks.They are very nice and interesting.Chidren like them.If amusement parks were black, children wouldn’t be happy.

Green makes people comfortable.When people go to forests and parks, they feel happy.So, if you are bored you can go forests or parks.

Yellow makes people energetic.When you see yellow, you feel stronger.Yellow flower is really beautiful present.If you want to buy a present, you should think about it.

Black is symbol of simplicity.People wear black when they are sad.If you will go to a funeral ceremony, you should wear black.Because it shows that you are sad.

Our Class - A 11 A

I think our class is the craziest class of our school. The class is a science class. All of us have big dreams. Being a doctor, being teacher, being engineer, being arhitect... So we have to study hard. We know it but we think studying is very difficult. So we don't study hard. And we are very naughty. In the lessons we don't let teachers speak. For example in one of the geometry lessons we do " Chalk War ". The chalks, erasers, pencils flew.

We are very lucky because our mentor teacher and maths teacher is Senem YALÇIN. She is very good teacher. We love her so much. But she is a very strict person. For example, nobody can wear colourful clothes in her lessons and nobody can enter the class after her. If somebody enter the class after her, she writes his/her school number on the roll call paper. But everybody in the class love her so much. She acts like our mother.

Of course there isn't only fun in life. So we must study hard to be doctor, teacher or engineer. All of our teachers explain us how to win the University exams. So we are very lucky because we have got very considerate teachers. We thank all of them.

Muslims all over the world are one community.They have the same belief.They face towards one object in their daily prayers.This object is Ka'bah in Mecca, in Arabia.
Ka'bah is centre of Islam.Muslims visit Ka'bah at least once if one can afford it.It means pilgrimage.Poor, crippled and paralysed people aren't obliged to go on pilgrimage.
Muslims gather in Mecca in the 12th month of Islamic Calendar.They worship to Allah.This special worship lasts for several days.
In this gathering the Muslims pay visits and walk around the Ka'bah.Also, they stay in plains of Mount Arafat.
Muslims join together on the basis of Islam.Color or race isn't important for Muslims.The pilgrimage brings Muslims of all countries, colors and races to one place.This strengthens the spirit of unitiy, equality and brotherhood.

Why Do We Celebrate Birthdays?

01st December. In our family this date is very important, because it's my father's birthday and he grows older every year on this date. This year, this date came again and it took away my father to the numbers that begin with four and we celebrated this day with joy. We bought him a special cake and al ot of presents. We celebrated his 40. birthday. I was curious about something. My father was an age older and we celebrated this. Then I asked : "Why are the people celebrating the day when they are older ? "Suddenly I found the answer . Birthdays are special days, because it's the anniversary that your beloved come to the world. And he\she is with you and you are happy. Look, the birthdays are the days to remember that you are happy and peacefull. I think people do not celebrate the birthday, they celebrate the years they were together.

All in all we celebrate birthdays because our family is together. And the biggest present is that family is together, happy and peacefull.

I wish that you celebrate a lot of birthdays together.

It seems like it is coming to end to say; “ No one can read my mind, my thoughts only belong to me.” Because like natural events, a map of things that happen in brain can be drawn now.

A study declared by Professor Jack Gallant and Shinji Nishimito from California Berkeley University showed that dreams can be recorded.

In post studies, scientists that examine activity of the brain record static and visual mechanism. But signals that become in the brain could not be analyzed until now. Nowadays, the reflection of the film which was showed to the experiment group consisting of attendants is transferred into computer screen.

Random videos were watched by three people. By this study, which can show how thoughts might look, it is provided that the videos that were watched and reflections received by brain signals are in conformity. What brain obtained at that moment was transferred into a reflection.

Some results that brain received are nearly the same. Only, some are not. At that point, scientists think that it is because of the subject’s own experiences and memories.

This research enables us to see the reflections of videos in brain. Scientists say that our dreams or thoughts can be watched in the future.

At this point, Professor Jack Gallant says ; “ We were able to see the reflections in a human’s inner world. This system showed us that we can film our minds.”

. The edifice is marble and edifice was adorned with bronze statues. Artemis Temple was a temple and also a marketplace. The edifice was applied by a Greek in 356 B.C.

Zeus Statue

It was built for Zeus in Olimpia in 450 B.C. It was built on a board skeleton with gold, ivory and metal pieces in Partenon. The statue is 13 meters long.

Keops Pyramids

Keops Pyramids can still be seen in Egypt. It was built in 2560 by Pharaoh Khufu. You can only see this edifice among seven wonders of the world. It is 145,75 meters long. It was the highest building in the world for 2560 years.

Rhodes Statue

It was built with iron and Stone. I t is 32 meters long. The statue was built for The God of Sun, Helios in Greece. It was built in 12 years. The knee of the statue was broken because of an earthquake.

Hanging Gardens of Babylon

It was built in 7^th century B.C. by Nebukadnezzar, the king of Babylon. Nobody knows the exact location of the gardens. Geographer Strabon’s definition shows that it is in Iraq.

Alexandria Lantern

It was built at Pharos Island of Alexandria city in Egypt. The lantern is 166 meters long. The construction of the lantern started in 290 B.C. by Commander Ptolemy Sater of Big Alexandria. The Lantern was built for the God of Sun. There were mirrors in the front windows. The mirrors reflected fire and enlightened the sea at night. It could be seen 50 km away. The building was demolished by earthquakes and other natural affects.

Mausoleum of Halikarnassus

It was built for King Mausallas by his wife and his sister in 350 B.C. in Bodrum. The grave was adorned with statues. The height of the mausoleum was 45 meters.

It was a sunny Saturday.When Asaf woke up, he heard birds from the windows.He opened the windows and took a deep breath.When he left his room, delicious smells came to him from the kitchen.He had a delightful breakfast with his mother and then went out from home.He planned to go to bookshops as usual.It was very crowded.The weather was cold and sunny.He entered the street that has a lot of bookshops in.The booksellers open the shops at the same time and drink tea together every morning.They usually sit on the chairs that are in front of the shops.Asaf likes this street very much and he knows all the booksellers.He turned to bookshop where he always buys books.He said “hi” to bookseller who is middle aged and short.He bought three books; first book was a novel which tell an old man’s life, second book was a poem which contains name of flowers and the other one was an essay book which is about train journeys.Then he went to a big cafe.He looked over his books.He thought what will he do after leaving cafe.It was a beautiful weekend to travel freely.He could go to a lake and spend time there.Or he could buy a few flower pots and work in his garden until evening.He remembered his grandfather when he saw the man who sat on the opposite table.He didn’t visit his grandfather for a long time.He had three options when he went out from the cafe.He could turn right, go to florist and buy colorful flowers.Or he could buy a ticket from the train station and travel.Or, he could could left and visit his grandfather who lives alone in a flat.

My bad day was last Monday.I woke up early.Because Monday is my school day.After I woke up, I got on to bus.The bus had accident.So I broke my leg.When ambulance came here, I had pain.The nurse examined my leg then I went to hospital by ambulance.The doctor examined me.Then the doctor treated my leg.

While I was sleeping, my family came to the hospital.My mum was unhappy.Because she was worried about my leg.

My father got information about my leg from the doctor.Then he came near me.He said me “You will be better”

And the other is Raju Rastogi. His family is very poor so he wants to be an engineer but he is worried of everything. He is worried about his sister’s marriage, his exams, and his father’s illness. He is very worried and he sometimes looks like an idiot because of this, too.

And the third one is Ranchodas Shamildas Chancad. he is the first character in movie. He is very clever and he loves engineering. he always helps his friends (farhan and raju).

When they start university they stay in same room so they meet at the beginning of the university. Dean of this university Viru Sahastrabudhhe hates our 3 idiots. He always humiliates them .Then Dean's daughter and Ranchodas fall in love...But I won't tell the entire story so you will curious :)

This film is a mixture of comedy, romance, drama and it is VERY FUNNY.I recommend everybody to watch this film.

MY SUMMER HOLIDAY

This summer passed very fast, like every holiday. We were very busy. Because we had 3 wedding ceremony. My cousins got married.

First, we went to Istanbul. We visited Fatih Mosque.

It’s a great mosque. We usually go to our village in holidays. But this summer we didn’t go there. Because my mum works anymore.
In summer, my uncle and my aunts came from France. They live in France because they work there. I met with them. Cause I love them very much. We went to my cousin’s wedding ceremony together. We enjoyed. There was firework show.

In Ramadan , we invited all of relatives to village for dinner.

We prepared huge tables. We cooked a lot of meals. There were many people. It was very nice. My uncle returned to France after Ramadan Festival. This summer was very nice.

She loves Cihan. And Cihan always sided with her during her difficult days. Kemal goes to the village to convince her to come back. She doesn't want to go back so he gets his gun. But, Zehra is ready in this case. She brings a gun and she kills Kemal. Cihan always supports her, in the prison. Good days now waiting for them.

The story was loved by so many people that they decided to make a TV series out of it. In 2005 the Tv series version of the film was shown on Kanal D. A lot of popular actor and actress acted in the series.

"The Count of Monte Cristo" is one of my favorite novels. It was written by Alexandre Dumas in 1844. In the novel the events pass in France, Italy and some Mediterranean Islands.

The story is about a young ignorant sailor called Edmond Dantes that has a bright future. At the same time there are people that are jealousy of him.

He gets stuck into the political games of the time just before the Hundred days in the year 1815 that would bring back Napoleon. He goes to prison over the betrayal of people he holds dear. He spends 14 years there.

In the prison he discovers the truth and decides to take revenge of them. He escapes from prison and gets very rich through his cellmate. With his new name he stars a new life with keeping in mind the old one.

Even when he acquires a unique wealth and lives a luxurious life he would never give up from his

request for revenge.

Not only people who stole his years and turned his life into a nightmare, also their family will be punished. His plans also have devastating consequences for the innocent as well as the guilty.

This book considered a literary classic today. I suggest this book to those who want to go on a exciting adventure. It’s an impressive book.

The book is written by İskender Pala.

This is a story of two powerful characters from the Otoman era. A king and a sultan. One of them is Yavuz Sultan Selim and the other one is Şah İsmail.
They want to the most powerful ruler in the world and they want each other to step down and accept that they are superior. But both of them reject this offer as they believe they are the best commander in the world.

This is not only a book of two people there are a lot of minor characters in the book . For example ; there are the twins Hasan and Hüseyin one is on the side from king and the other is on the side from sultan. They miss each other but they can’t communicate with each other. And there is queen Taçlı. Sultan loves Taçlı but he has to leave his queen on the battlefield to his enemy. Do you want to learn why ? then read this exciting book and learn the answer to this question and many more like ; Who wins the war ? or What happens to twins ? .I recommend you to read this book because I think you will read every sentence with love and zest.

Stephen Edwin King was born in Portland,Maine in 1947.He was second son of Donald and Nellie Ruth Pillsbury King.When Stephen was baby, his mother and father divorced. Parts of his childhood spent in Fort Wayne Indiana. When Stephen was eleven, his mother brought her children back to Durham-Maine. He is a famous writer. Many of his books adapted to movies.
Stephen attended the grammar school in Durham and then Lisbon Falls High School. He graduated in 1966. He started university of Maine at Orono. He wrote a column for the school newspaper. When he was a student he was active. He served to members of the Student Senate. He came to support the anti-war movement to the Orono Campus. He graduated from the university in 1970. He qualified to teach on the high school level when he graduated.

He married with Tabitha Spruce in January of 1971. Stephen published first Professional short story (The Glass Floor) in 1967.
He continued to sell stories to men’s magazine. Many of these aggregated into the ‘Night Shift’.
Stephen began teaching at English class of high school at Hampden Academy. He contiuned to write short stories.
In 1973, Doubleday and Co. accepted the novel: “Carrie” for publication. The King Family moved South Maine because Stephen’s mother was sick. She died in 1973.
“Carrie” published in 1974. The King Family left from Maine. They went to Colorado. Stephen wrote “The Shining” in Colorado. They returned to Maine in 1975.
The Kings have three children. Their names are Naomi Rachel, Joe Hill and Owen Philip. The Kings have four grandchildren.

The weather is very cold in winter and it’s rainy in summer.
There are very delicious and unique foods in Korean Kitchen.Korean people usually have 3 meals. For breakfast they eat rice,soup and chips. Fried rice and pasta for lunch and soup,fish and meat for dinner. They prepare tables specially. They use small tables for men. Also,they eat pickles,red and green vegetables,sauces with meal. Korean people like traditional dishes.Their popular traditional food is “Kim chi”. It’s a kind of pickle. And they eat “Kim chi” every meal.

Their desserts are usually light. They use rice for desserts,too. And they cook very delicious cookies with sesame. The most popular drink is “Ginsgseng Tea” in Korea.
Korean people use subways for transportation. But there is traffic jam. Because there are many cars in traffic.
Korean people marketing at weekends . You can find everything in markets. Especially they sell vegetables and fishes. And they are really cheap.

Most people love the stories about the famous detective Sherlock Holmes, but not many people can tell you about the man who wrote them. His name was Arthur Conan Doyle.
He was born in Edinburgh on 12nd May 1859 and was one ten children. He did well at school, but didn’t like it very much. He studied medicine and became a doctor. As well us a great writer, he was a good sportsman and a keen photographer. He was also interested in things like ghosts and fairies.
It is surprising that with such a busy life Arthur had time for a family, but in 1885 he married Louise Howkins and they had three children. They travelled all over the world until they returned to England because of Louise’s poor health. She died in 1906. A year later, Doyle married Jean Leckie and moved to Sussex.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a very talented man. His good work and his great books earned him a knighthood. He died in 1930 at age of 81.

MY FAVOURITE ROCKBAND

Muse is a rockband from Devon,which is in southwest of England.The band consists of Matthew Bellamy,Dominic Howard and Chris Wolstenholme.They always surprise their fans with fancy stage costumes, performances and fascinating songs.

All the members of the group,lived in the same town and they were in the same school.Matt says that the town that they lived,was like a hell and really painful place.He says:”Our years were wasted there.Young people chose to be a drug-addict or a musician.But we have elected the second way.”

In early years,although every member of the group were in the same school,they used to play in different bands in school.Dominic was the drummer of the most famous band in school.Matt wanted to know him and they met each other.They both knew their skills,so they decided to come together.Matt wanted to write their own songs rather than doing covers.They wanted one more member to the group who'll play bass guitar.They asked it of Chris and he accepted.The three came together this way.The band used to have various names at first,such as Rocket Baby Dolls,Youngblood,Fixed Penalty..In the end they agreed on name 'Muse'.They attended to a contest in school and they won 'surprisingly'.Because they shattered all of the equipment during the performance.”It was supposed to be a protest,a statement.” Matt says ;”It was a real shock,a massive shock.”After the contest,the three decided to keep on their music career anstead of stdying at a university.

At first,they recorded a song named :'Gothic Plague'.They covered the 90's song by their own sound styles.But this didn't bring success.Then they promised to not do any other covers.They wrote their own songs.But nothing changed.They performed without audience.They took themselves serious and worked harder..Practised more than ever.Music became a passion more than a necessity.They didn't miss a chance to perform.They performed nearly everywhere.Their first two singles became a bridge of becoming famous.People really liked what they do.After that,they released the first album called 'Showbiz' in 1999.Showbiz was selected as 'The Album of the Week' on a magazine named 'New Musical Express'.The title on the magazine was:”Look at Muse! You will wonder how these three yong men can do such touching songs!”

It's true what they say.They do really touching songs.And music is fit for everyone.Even for romance lovers.Matt says:”I have no idea about where these lyrics come from.I guess it comes from somewhere inside me but I don't know how. In fact, I don't wanna know.Because I'm afraid of losing it.”

They never concede that they're post-Britpop rockband.They usually describe themselves as a mixture of British bands such as Queen,Radiohead..But we can say that they're the best modern rockband ever.

Some people say that Muse is a copy of Radiohead. But that would be so ruthless.Because Muse's songs are unique.They mix different kinds of music and sounds.

Muse released 5 albums so far.They got 92 nominations and 34 wins on various award ceremonies.They won 'Best Rock Album' award at Grammy Awards on 14th February.And they also performed at Grammys.

Everybody has a muse in them.Mine is MUSE.

*LEMON DREAM*

Ingridients ;
*2,5 glassful flour
*1 teacup sugar
*2 eggs
*a half teamp lemon water
*1 teamp caster sugar
*for fry
*2 glassful sun flower oile

INSTRUCTIONS
1-) The flour is sieved , one teacup sugar, smelted but not hot 60 gram margarine and two eggs. Are joined in the flour . They are kneaded, in the otherside the lemon water is dipped into the dough. They are pulped with effort.

2-) The roller is rolled in the flour. Then the dough is opened as a knife ridge.

3-) Desings are took out from the dough.

4-) The oil is aggraved . The desings doughs are casted in the oil and they are fryed. The doughs are sieved, Then they are took n the servisce plate , The caster sugar is dredged over doughs. And then they are eaten with real pleasure.

* Spoonful oil
*2 Teacup flour
*1 glassful water

INSTRUCTIONS

1-)The carrots are cut into picies the are fry in two spoon ful oil and boiled in a glassful water. They are brought in tender very well. Then they are sieved and mashed.

2-) Six glassful stocks , enough salt and the mash are joined in a saucepan.

3-) The flour is roasted with a spoonful oil. Then the milk is blended adn joined. The yolks are beated in depth and blended.

4-) Number 3 is joined int the carrots and in the other side it is blended. When it’s boiled five minutes i it is raided from the hearth.
And it is ready for service out.

I first saw Rome in a movie. When I saw the Colosseum, I was totally impressed. Rome is the capital city of Italy and the country’s largest and the most popular city. In 1870, Rome became the capital of the Kingdom of Italy and then Italy Republic.So, Rome is an old city.

We can’t say it’s a peaceful city.Because The Vatican Museums recieving 4.2 million and the Colosseum recieving 4 million tourists every year.

There’s too many parks and green areas in Rome. The most notable of them are Villa Borghese and Villa Ada. It’s a clean city, not polluted.

It’s a historical city at the same time. There are many historical museums and architecture in Rome. Modern and old, past and present are side by side.

If you go to Rome, don’t visit only the usual tourist places. Be brave and go off the usual tracks. It will surprise you.

Rome is one of the most photogenic and sophisticated cities.And also, it’s a romantic city for honey-moon. And it’s called ‘City of Fashion’

Obviously, Rome is noisy. Chaotic and it’s difficult for daily life.If you still have energy after a few days, don’t forget to visit the Spanish Steps too.

Rome has cheaper accommodationoptions than New York and London. Prices are set by the state. And all the hotels have to show the official rate on the doors. But you might want to stay in an apartment though. There are some reasons to o look for a rental apartment. Firstly, flats are more comfortable and functional. Secondly, you get a chance to experience a ‘Roman life’.Thirdly flats are cheaper.

All in all, Rome is a city that you may want to visit.

Imagine if people did not study English, how would they be speaking to foreigners and learning about others ?

In order to sound educated and literate people need to thoroughly study English. It is also heavily needed in the business world as well as your own private world. English also teaches you to communicate and process things more accurately. If we did not have a set English language communicating would be extremely difficult.

The main reason to study English is to sound literate. In order to advance in the Professional world, you must have proper English and a good speech. For example although Prime Minister Mr. Erdoğan is an extremely smart and important person he sometimes has trouble communicating during international meetings. For example at Davos he could only use “one minute”. On the other hand our President Mr. Gül can speak English fluently and thus he has no problems in communicating with other whether in Turkey or abroad. This is the main reason why you should learn and speak English. It helps you to look educated and make you advance in professional world. Because in order to obtain a good career advancement as well as respect from everyone else you have to be literate and well educated.

An additional reason to learn English is communication issue. You are much more accepted in the world if you can portray yourself better. People will think of you in a better and more positive way and you will have a chance of being accepted. You will most likely also have more opportunities in life.

In conclusion there are many reasons as to why studying English is important. One is to sound more educated and literate, the other is to communicate properly with others and another one is that it is important for career advancement and respect in the business world.

Learning English never ends. The best way to learn English is to use it more and more in our daily lives.

Turkey has a very rich food culture. Every region of Turkey has different eating habits. Some of them like eating spicier and some of them like eating healthier. Let’s have a look at Turkey’s eating habits. In Karadeniz region people usually eat seafood. All kinds of fish are popular in Karadeniz but “hamsi” is their favorite. They even make desserts with it. They usually like eating “Karalahana sarması” and fish. In Eastern regions people usually eat meat. The meat is cheaper and more delicious there. They like eating “kebaps, meatballs and çiğ köfte” In Anatolian region people eat healthier than other regions. They prefer eating vegetables.

In Turkey people usually have three meals everyday. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is very important because it gives the energy we need everyday. Turkish people usually have breakfast at their homes. They generally have egg, cheese, olives, bread, honey or jam, butter and milk for breakfast. Some people have breakfast at cafes or restaurants. Some of them have soup and some of them have bakeries. “Simit( a wheel shaped food) is very popular for breakfast. People generally eat it with tea. Lunch is the second meal of the day many people have lunch out either at restaurants or fast food places. Working people and students eat fast food for lunch. “Döner, lahmacun and toast” are very popular for lunch. Dinner is the last meal but it is the most important meal of the day. People usually have dinner at their home with their families. They want to see all family members at the table.

LIFE OF A TEACHER

İsmail Toprak was born in Harmantepe village in HENDEK, SAKARYA . he was born in 1975. He finished his primary school education in that village’s primary school and then began attending Hendek İmam-Hatip High School in 1986. He had a very successful high school life. He was graduated from high school in 1993. Unfortunately he could not enter university the year he was graduated but he did not give up studying . He kept working harder and harder. One year later he won the university exam and he started attending Karadeniz Technical University. His major was History Teaching. He has been teaching history since he was graduated from university. He worked in many different schools around Turkey. Now he Works in our school.
He got married in 2000. He has got two sons. Their names are Abdurrahman Kaan and Arif Cemal. Abdurrahman is nine and Arif is two years old. They love their father very much. His wife is a textile teacher. By the way there is something interesting about him. He earns less Money than her wife does. He does not look very happy with this, though. İsmail Toprak has got a car and a house.
He finished his master’s degree in the History department of Sakarya University in 2002. Nowadays he is studying for his doctorate. For this reason he has to be successful in English.
In the good old days having a trade business of his own was his greatest ambition but now being a tradesman is one of his worst nightmares. He hopes he would be the president of Turkey in the future.

İsmail Toprak: Hello, yes it is.
OVE: Why do you think it is important?
İ.T.: The world is becoming a huge village thanks to globalization. Turkey must interact with other countries. People need to communicate if they want to interact. Turkish language is not a global language so we need to use a global language to interact with other countries. It is easy to use the potential of English language than waiting for Turkish language to become a global language.
OVE: DO you use ENglish in your daily life ?
İ.T. : No, unfortunately not.
OVE: Would you like to use it ?
İ.T. : Yes, hopefully I would like to use it in my daily life one day.
OVE: When do you need English most ?
İ.T. : When i go abroad. İ can not understand what is going on around me like other people when i am abroad.
OVE: Would you like to speak any other foreign languages ?
İ.T. : Yes, Arabic.

KEMAL SUNAL

Famous Turkish movie comedian Kemal Sunal died on the 4th July 2000. He had a heart attack during his Trabzon flight on the plane. The crew called for help and an ambulance had arrived at the airport by the time the plane landed but there was something missing. The were not any doctors in the ambulance. It was ironic but it was like a scene from a Kemal SUNAL movie. Can you imagine it ; an ambulance without a doctor! It was too late when the doctor arrived. It is really difficult to believe. In one of his interviews he once said ; “Making people laugh is much more difficult than making them cry” He was right. His fans always laughed at his characters on the screen very much. Kemal Sunal acted in many different films in Yeşilcam. He had his greatest success in the film “ Hababam Sınıfı” with his unforgettable character “ İnek Şaban”. TV channels showed this movie for maybe a million times and he succeeded to make the audience laugh each time it was shown. On the contrary to his funny characters on the screen he was a very serious person in his personal life. He liked being serious and he often avoided crowded parties and meetings. He preferred non-alcoholic drinks. He was always very careful about his health. He was a good family man. He was a mirror of society. All of us went through the same events throughout our lives much or less. He showed the bad sides of the society and criticized them. He mocked the silly behaviors of selfish people. We will always remember him and pray for him. Rest in peace great man.

SHORT STORY

The story you are about the read was written in 40 minutes time during a writing activity. It was a guided writing activity and students were given seven random words and they were asked to write a story with those words in it. The random seven words were ; “ball” , “elephant”, “smart” , “ follow”, “buy”, “jacket”, and “milk”. Our friends managed to write a nice story using them. We hope you like it.

FRIENDSHIP

Furkan is a student, to be more specific ; he is an average student. He has short, fair hair. He is of medium height and he is a bit thin. He has a nice family. His father is a musician and his mother is a housewife. One day Furkan came from school at the usual time. He threw his school bag on his bed and immediately went out to spend some time with his friends. They started playing football. A friend of his kicked the ball so hard that the ball went out of the field. Furkan ran after to ball to take it back. A child followed him while he was carrying the ball back. Furkan saw the child and he realized that the child looked very sad. The child was wearing a very old and dirty jacket. Furkan gave the ball to his friends and told his friends about the child. They stopped playing and went to see the child. Furkan asked the child what his name was. The child was very shy , they could barely hear his voice. He whispered; “Ali”. They all felt sorry about the way he looked and the way he spoke. Ali told his friends that he would not continue playing. He took Ali with him to his house. On the way to home they did not talk. Ali followed Furkan without uttering a word. Furkan told his mother about Ali when they arrived home. Furkan’s mother understood the situation quickly. She gave them two glasses of milk. They spent some time together. Furkan loved Ali very much. Furkan was very sorry about Ali’s jacket and he spoke to his mother about it. The three of them went to shopping and her mother bought Ali a brand new jacket, a pair of trousers and a smart shirt. Then they went to a restaurant and had a very nice meal. Ali was really happy for the first time in his life. He left Furkan and his mother when the night fell down. Next day Furkan found a toy elephant in front of his house made of mud. He was very confused , he could not understand why was it there or who had put it there. He saw a piece of paper while he was entering his home. He took it and saw that there was something written on it.“ You made me happy, very happy. This toy elephant is all I have. I do not have anything else. I wish I could have given you more. This is yours now. You are my best friend. Thank you for everything.”

What Does A Typical Student Do ?

What does an Imam-Hatip Student do at school and at home? How does she spend her free time ? Here are all the answers for these questions and more.
An Imam- Hatip student wakes up early, at about 5:30. First she washes her face and hands then she performs the morning prayers. She brushes her teeth after she has breakfast and then wears her school uniform. After that she leaves her house to go to school. She either waits at the bust station for the bus and goes to school by bus when it arrives or walks to school. The first lesson starts at 8:00 o’clock. She has five lessons before her lunch break. The lunch break starts at 12:00. She performs the noon prayers after she has her lunch. She can eat at the school canteen, at class, in the garden or at the restaurants outside the school garden. There are a lot of options for her at the canteen but the favorite choice is “toast”. The school is especially famous for its delicious toast. After lunch she spends some time with her friends. Her sixth lesson starts at 13:00. She usually has 9 lessons in a day. The lessons finish at 16:10. When she comes home she washes her face and hands and performs mid afternoon prayers. After that she does her homework and then relaxes a little. After evening prayers she has her dinner and brushes her teeth. After the last prayer of the day she gets ready for tomorrow. She reads books or magazines before she goes to bed. she goes to bed at about 11:00.
This is how a typical Imam- Hatip student spends her day at the school and at home; simple but sound.
