IT’S COFFEE TIME

Last week I visited my grandmother. When I went , there was a guest. She was my grandmother’s friend. They are very old and close friends. Every afternoon they meet and drink coffee. 12 pm is their “coffee time”. Then I thought that coffee has a special place in our life.

When two people decide to marry, groom’s family goes to bride’s house. Traditionally, bride makes Turkish coffee and serve it. If you watch the groom, when he drinks coffee you can see a different expression on his face. Because bride adds salt to his coffee. I think coffe is symbol of friendship. When people meet each other, they drink coffee. Because coffee make their conversations sweeter. There are many kinds of coffee. Some of them are espresso, cappuccino, mocha, latte, macchiato and Turkish coffee. Especially Turkish coffee is very important in Turkey. When neighbours came your home, first you should make Turkish Coffee.

Some people drink coffee without sugar and they eat sugar with coffee. Many coffee addicts prefer drinking without sugar and some of them eat chocolate with coffee. If you offer coffee, you should give a glass of water. Because many years ago, when a guest came, they served water with coffee. If the guest hungry he took water and they prepare dinner for him.

“A single cup of coffee can create friendships that last forty years.” You may hear this expression many times. When you see your school friend after many years, you should invite him/her to drink coffee. While you are sipping your coffee, you can commemorate the school memories.

But you should be careful. Because more coffee is harmful. If you drink more than twice a day, it may be dangerous for your heart rhythm.
