Abu Bakr was the prophet's best friend. His real name was "Abdullah" but his kunniyat was "Abu Bakr". His sobriquet was "siddiqui". He was nearly the same age as the Holy Prophet. He was really gentle and pious oerson. He was one of the first people to embrace Islam and was a constant companion of the Holy prophet. Also he gave his daughter, Aisha, to prophet. Abu Bakr was a wealthy man and always gave generously in the cause of Islam.
     In Heijra, firstly he didn't go to Medina, he stayed with Hz. Mohammed. Then he went to Medina with the holy prophet. He took part in all the battles with Hz. Mohammed. When the Holy prophet got ill, he became the imam. After death of the Holy prophet in 632, he became the first caliph.
     Abu Bakr started to govern muslims. In his caliphate, there were a lot of liars and false prophets. They wanted to split muslims. But Abu Bakr took hard measures. He ensured unity of muslims.
     When the Zakat was first introduced in the life of the Holy prophet, many people paid it only deference to the prophet's wishes. But after his death, many people refused to pay it any more. Abu Bakr came down hard on people who didn't pay it. He vowed to collect Zakat from everybody who was paying during the prophet's life.
     The most important ministration of him is piecing together the Holy Quran. He protected the unity of Islam during his caliphate. He crushed the influence of the false prophets and put an end to rebellions at home and abroad. But he never give up.
     Over two years after becoming caliphe, Abu Bakr felt ill and after a fortnight, he passed away in 634.
