THE LITTLE PRINCE

The little prince ( Le petit prince) is a novella by Antoine de Saint Exupery. It's a story narrated by a pilot who is stranded in a desert. (It is believed that the author put his personal experiences into the narrative.Since he was a pilot himself and was once stranded in the Sahara because his plane broke down.) The impression that the story makes on you changes and depends on what age you read it. At one point you can find the adventures of this little boy too boring and stop reading but then you can feel ashamed of who you grew up to be as an adult. It maybe a child book but I believe that it should be read and reread no matter what age you are. It crosses the lines between philosophy and literature, adulthood and childhood, the things that should matter in life and the ones that matter less. It's a story that stays with you.

Here is a short summary just in case you have no idea about the book. This little story's about a lonely little prince.Told by an airplane pilot who crashes in the Sahara desert. As he's worrying for his life he meet the little prince. He learns that the little prince comes from a planet called B-612. On this planet there is a rose and the little prince loves it.But one day he caught the rose lying to him and decided that he couldn't trust her anymore. He feels lonely so he sets off on a journey across seven planets to find a friend. And that's where the story begins.

On the first six planets the little prince meets a king, a vain man, a drunkard, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. They're all too busy gaining wealth and power and to consider being his friend When he finally lands on planet Earth, he finds himself in a desert. There he meets a snake who offers it's poison to send him back where he came from but he ignores the snake. Eventually he meets a fox who makes him realize that he feels lonely because he's so far away from his rose. Finally he meets a very special human, the pilot and the tells his story to him. They seem to understand each other very well. Both of them want to go back home. The pilot is able to fix his plane but his mind is fixed on returning to his beloved rose.So he finds his own way back home with a little help of the snake.
Now go and read the book or reread it. I promise you it'll find a way to your heart and stay there.
