L'Espoir Blanc is a café and sweet shop in Okamoto, Japan. The café's name means "white hope" in French. It was designed by Yuko Nagayama. It looks like two separate buildings with a tree sandwiched in the middle.

Yuko, designed the building neat and clear. The facades are glazed, as are the walls surrounding the courtyard in the middle. This allows visitors to look right through the building. It also allows the interior to fill with natural light. Another benefit of this glazing is that the courtyard and tree are visible from almost everywhere inside the building, as well as from the street outside.

The asymmetric structure has a sweet shop in one of the ground floors and a kitchen and storage in the other. The upper floors are reserved for the café part. The building is asymmetric but yet so clean-cut. I'm in love with this interior of Yuko Nagayama's as every other one.
